So far, what we’ve seen of the upcoming Zack Snyder Superman flick, Man of Steel, looks pretty darn good.  Of course, I do have a fondness for chiseled looking men, so it was easy for me to be intrigued and attracted to Henry Cavill (pictured above in a recent still image of him as Superman) in the first place, despite the fact that he’s a British actor playing a very American character.

But we have yet to see anything other than the still images and the splendid looking trailer, which really doesn’t reveal much about the actual story or any sort of thorough dialogue.  Still, it’s nice to know that the screenwriter has only nice things to say about the process of making the Superman film.  You can read what he had to say in a recent interview with Access Hollywood, or watch the video below:

I’m really proud of it, I never thought I would be doing a Superman film, but I think the only possible way to top myself or ourselves on Batman is to tackle Superman who’s kind of the Granddaddy of all the superheroes. He’s trickier, it’s kind of easier doing a dark character who doesn’t have any super powers but I’m really proud of what we’ve done and I can’t wait for people to see it. I think the movie is going to be the right movie for the times. I’m happy that movie is coming out in the summer, because I think it’s the kind of movie that the world needs right now.

Considering he wrote Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy and thus helped with its success, it’s good to know that his hand is in this, too.
