Iron Man 3 is going on the bigger screen! Yep, you’ll be able to watch Iron Man as well as Iron Patriot and probably a few other Iron suits on (both fake and real) IMAX screens near you.
Iron Man 3 is the fourth Marvel film to screen in IMAX theaters, after Iron Man 2, Thor and The Avengers last year.
“Marvel and IMAX are a perfect one-two punch, and the Iron Man franchise has become a global phenomenon that resonates with fans around the world,” said Greg Foster, chairman and president of IMAX Filmed Entertainment, in a statement Tuesday.
IMAX will digitally remaster Iron Man 3 — which sees Tony Stark go after the person responsible for his personal world being destroyed at his enemy’s hands — for the large-format release.
And here’s some goodies for the collectors, the higher priced Iron Man 2 items are from Hot Toys, and the interchangeable Iron Man 3 items are from Hasbro (via Collider):
And this video shows just what humans can really do, which isn’t anywhere near Tony Stark’s inventions, but nonetheless, pretty awesome. This guy built his own Iron Man gauntlet, equipped with a working laser. That’s pretty impressive:
