Despite what I thought of his performance as Harry Osborn in Sam Raimi‘s Spider-Man flicks, I think I might have to agree with James Franco here, so please don’t be mad at me. I did enjoy watching Marc Webb‘s version, but there were some thing I wasn’t fond of in the movie. But this isn’t about what I thought. Let’s read on, shall we?
James Franco bites his tongue for no one. The actor recently gave an impromtu review of Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man. Franco himself starred as Harry Osborn in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, which ran from 2002-2007. In a recent interview, he was asked his opinion on the reboot as well as successor Dane DeHaan.
Franco revealed that he’s seen DeHaan’s work in both Chronicle and Lawless. He has nothing but positive things to say about him, it’s the story he’s not fond of. Franco felt the film was more “meh” than amazing. “I mean … they could have strayed a little bit more from the original,” he explained. “It was like, ‘Why?’ I guess they made a lot of money. Congrats.”
Well, regardless how the sequel goes, I did enjoy both versions of Spider-Man, and I hope to enjoy the sequel to Webb’s version more than the first. So, do you agree or disagree with Franco’s opinion?
