According to ‘The Host‘s Facebook page, the soundtrack for the movie will be released on March 26, 2013, and will be available to download on iTunes at that time.
The score for the movie is composed by Brazilian film composer Antonio Pinto. He’s done the soundtrack for ‘Lord of War‘ and ‘Love in the Time of Cholera‘ along with several international films. His style has a very latin feel to it in the stringed instruments, which is interesting because I don’t think I imagined that type of music to go with this movie, especially because the only music I’ve associated with the film is Imagine Dragons‘ song “Radioactive,” which is also going to be included in the soundtrack, and may probably be the only one with lyrics (Stephenie Meyer had stated that the soundtrack will most likely consist of just score music, which is very dissimilar to the Twilight soundtracks.)
However, having said that, the soundtrack he did for the movie ‘Senna‘ has more eclectic flavors in each piece, which I believe, shows his ability to conform to the feel and tone of ‘The Host’ in different events/scenes in the movie.
