Iwan Rheon, who played Simon Bellamy, in the first three seasons of Misfits, mentioned a bit about the show and the possibility of a movie being made from him. The movie part was mentioned by creator Howard Overman previously, and we haven’t heard much about it since. However it would be a shame to not see character fan-favorite Simon in the film. Iwan’s presence in the show was part of the reason the show has been very successful and it’s good to know that he wouldn’t mind coming back, either.
Now Rheon, who quit Misfits at the end of series three, has admitted he would be an “idiot” not to return for the mooted movie. The actor told Digital Spy: “I think it’d be a really fun thing to go back and revisit, because obviously I feel so much love for Misfits and gratitude.”
Discussing the chances of the movie actually getting made, Rheon admitted that reuniting the cast would present a “logistical challenge”, but added: “I think it might happen. I think it’s quite likely that it will happen, yeah, if they can get everyone together to do it.”
Now, if we can just see if it’s with their power to bring back a very much desired Robert Sheehan (who will be seen as Simon in the Mortal Instruments: City of Bones movie) to complete the awesome odd duo, who played the immortal Nathan Young on the show, as well as Antonia Thomas, who played Alisha Daniels, because let’s face it, you can’t have Simon without Alisha.
