Although actor Colton Haynes didn’t reveal much, as I’m sure he’s just as excited for us to know as he is to show us when the show returns, this is what he was able to say:
“A few of the most important DC characters are going to be coming to Arrow. And quite possibly working in a team together.”
That is certainly something to get a little geeked-out about.
Executive producer Marc Guggenheim also teased a couple of new arrivals for season 2, that of the villainous side of things, since it seems we might not see much of the Dark Archer (we’ll certainly miss John Barrowman) anymore:
“We made no secret of the fact that we subscribe to the Whedonesque model of having a big bad, and in Season 2, we’ll actually have two big bads. They’ll both be very recognizable names to fans of the comic book. We’re really excited about both of them.”
Aside from the Dark Archer, Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen has had quite a few DC villains already grace the show, including Deadshot (Michael Rowe), The Huntress (Jessica de Gouw), The Count/Vertigo (Seth Gabel), China White (Kelly Hu) and Deathstroke (Jeffrey C. Robinson) to name a few.
It will no doubt be exciting to see how much they up the ante on the Sophomore season of the show. There’s no shortage of bad guys in the DC Universe, but it’s really a matter of finding the right villains and the actors to play them that will keep the viewers coming.
