Although Turbo was released a few months earlier in the U.S. and ranked 3rd in it’s opening weekend (behind 1st place The Conjuring and 2nd place Despicable Me 2), it was able to grab 1st place in Australia, with Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters debuting in 2nd place.

Other movies that debuted in Australia the same weekend were One Direction’s concert/documentary film This Is Us, which took 6th place, and Disney’s Planes in 7th.
