Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead

Wow. This book trumps all the books before it.

I won’t say much detail about it, but for me, it seemed a lot happened in this book to match the total of the past books. Well, maybe not so much, but still, I’m thankful that Richelle didn’t wait until the end of the book to put out an epic fight scene.

 

This time, as I felt with the previous books, the pace was much improved to tell the story of life after graduating Vampire Academy. Of course, Rose is no ordinary dhampir graduate. Immediately after graduating, not only does she take Lissa on her next crazy venture, but she brings along Eddie, her fellow (and loveable) dhampir friend.

It really is a crazy venture, which makes it all the more exciting, and the reason for it is even more insane.

As much as I liked the book, all I can say is that it’s a great read. I love the character interaction, I love Rose being Rose, and I love the tension between several of the characters, whether it’s romantic tension or angry tension, it’s all wonderfully full of emotions that are relatable to humans.

My heart ached several times, but was thrilled at the prospect of how things moved forward in this book. I drank it all in, no pun intended. The drama was intensified, and the only caveat about it is that I wish I didn’t have to wait so long for the series to get to this point where I’m craving the next book.

Still, I loved it and I only just broke away from reading the final book to write this review.
